The church of St. Nicholas looms over the tiny village of Salthouse

Enjoying fine views over the marshes and sea beyond from its lofty churchyard.  

The building dates from the 16th century and was built by
Sir Henry Heydon of Baconsthorpe.  

Found within the choir stalls, scratched by past choir boys are
sailing ships, said to date from when these majestic sailing
vessels were common place on the Norfolk sea.
