The Norfolk area has a long established history in
market trading, and today's Norfolk markets and Norfolk
Farmers Markets are really thriving. It never ceases to
amaze us how popular these venues are with the tourists
we speak to, and the friends and visitors that accompany
us on our shopping trips. They seem to be especially
interested in the local produce stalls, but also enjoy
what the other market vendors have to offer. We
have found that clothes, tools, foods, spices, pictures,
books, rugs, pottery, footwear and plants are really
good value for money.
Farmers Markets celebrate local
home-grown produce with local farmers and growers
selling their own produce direct to the public.
Items on sale have either been grown, raised, baked,
caught or made by the people selling them. You can buy
things like fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, meats,
bread, eggs, preserves, pickles, wine and lots more
besides. Farmers Markets allow smaller local producers
an outlet direct to the public, something to be
celebrated.
