It has landscaped cliff-top gardens, Edwardian style promenades, a boating lake, a mini-funfair, putting greens, bowling green, pitch and put and of course, a wide choice of great fish and chip shops. There are a good range of shops and three local supermarkets along with pubs / inns, restaurants and cafes.
Relaxed sandy beaches with shingle and pebbles and safe shallow water a stones throw from the town. The pier is a popular place for those looking to catch crabs on long wires complete with tasty morsel. The town hosts one of the largest carnivals with one of the biggest day processions during the month of August.
Don't be surprised if you see beesties on the slopes to the sea, a herd of goats are often left to graze on the grassy sea banks.
