                    Holidays in Scratby Norfolk

Scratby is a coastal village on the East Norfolk coast, a highly popular place with those who enjoy "seaside time" because it has super long stretches of sandy beach.

Scratby village has a cliff top setting swathed in picture postcard caravans many with picket fenced front gardens ( a few are available to let on a weekly basis), and there is a small green on the top of the cliff with a couple of seats, a fine place to stop and take in the sea views.

A quieter place than the coastal resort of Hemsby just up the road. Scratby is an ideal place for a beach holiday, and for a bit more noise and excitement, Great Yarmouth is a short bus ride south along the coast. Scratby has a small supermarket, post office and restaurant

Nearby California owes its name to a discovery of 16th century gold coins on the beach in 1848 as the California gold rush was taking place in America at the same time. This small village in Norfolk was christened with the same name and this is where you will find the popular California Tavern..
