A visitors guide to the inland village of Ringstead located in North West Norfolk. The village lies slightly inland from the North Norfolk coastline on the ancient Peddars Way a long distance footpath.  Surrounded by gently rolling landscape, wildlife flora and fauna, it's a perfect spot for those looking for a peaceful base yet close enough to all the visitor attractions that this part of Norfolk has to offer. 

Many people visit the North Norfolk Coast for the wonderful bird watching that the area presents and ornithologist are well catered for with a number of reserves nearby with resident species as well as visiting rare migratory birds. The royal residence of Sandringham is close to Ringstead, this is the country retreat of the Royal Family built by King Edward VII and passed down as a private home through generations of monarchs. It has both a lovely house, grounds and an interesting museum to be explored. 

Just over two miles away from Ringstead is the picturesque coastline and golden sands of the north Norfolk beaches of Brancaster and Holme-next-the-Sea. Also within easy reach are a number of Golf Course, one of which is a championship course.  For those looking for traditional seaside fun then a visit to the Victorian seaside resort of Hunstanton with its beaches, pitch and putt, crazy golf, theatre and gardens overlooking the sea.  

The village of Ringstead benefits from an excellent pub, the 17th century Gin Trap Inn, and a village shop/post office. Also in the village is Ringstead Downs an eleven hectare nature reserve of  rolling chalky landscape with wonderful views.
