Wood Norton, a small attractive typical Norfolk village, which until the 1950s was largely owned by the dean and chapter of Christ Church Oxford.  The church of St. Mary's was erected in 1700 and has a distinctive brick tower, that also features on the village sign.

Wood Norton has no inn but there is one under two miles away.

The market town of Fakenham is 6 miles away, offering a good variety of shops, weekly market and a Farmers Market.  The town also has its own Super Bowl, museum, cinema, race course, ten-pin bowling, golf course and sports centre.

On the outskirts of Fakenham are two well known attractions, the first is Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and gardens the other is The Dinosaur Adventure Park.

Heading for the coast some 11 miles (18km) you will find the seaside resort of Wells next the Sea with its picturesque quayside and waterfront.  Wells  is still very much a working port with whelk and shrimp boats berthed in its small harbour.
