The Village of Hopton-on-Sea in Norfolk

Hopton on Sea Norfolk Holidays

A visitors guide to the seaside village of Hopton-on-Sea with its wide sandy beaches located on the East Coast of Norfolk, just three miles from the bright lights of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk and six miles from Lowestoft in Suffolk.

Hopton on sea sits between these two very well known popular resorts, which makes it an ideal location if you want to enjoy some peace and quite, but still have access to all the facilities that larger seaside resorts provide, like theatres cinemas and a huge choice of restaurants and other eating places.

Offshore you will see Scroby Sands, home to the second largest off shore wind farm in the UK, thirty wind turbines, which make a dramatic picture on the horizon. Scroby Sands is also home to a seal colony and boat trips out to the colony can be taken from Great Yarmouth.

There is a small but pleasant seating area on the coastal cliffs where you can enjoy the view.

The village has a local convenience stores and a surprisingly nice ornamental church. The White Hart Inn is  just a few minutes walk from the beach.  They serve traditional home cooked food and have a large selection of real ales, and a comprehensive wine list to choose from.
